DeutschAkademie Sprachschule Berlin Alexanderplatz: Deutschkurse in Berlin

Polecam!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Take clases with Esra you won't regret it

Positive Erfahrung: EDIT 08.01.2026: Reposting because they deleted my four star review and DA engages in aggressive review manipulation on Google. Read on for the details of my multi-year experience with them. EDIT 7.May.2021: Alright, so through unexpected circumstances I wound up giving Deutschakademie (DA) another chance. In summary, because of these additional experiences, I would now rate DA four stars - it's pretty good! I've now done classes here from A2.1 - B2.2 with four different teachers. Two of them were absolutely amazing and were not only outstanding teachers but also passionate and engaging too - a big shoutout to Susanne P. and recently Julia H. :) Ausgezeichnet! But with one of these four teachers I was quite dissatisfied. I made complaints to DA at the time, and then they even assigned me to the same teacher again for the next class after I specifically requested to them that I not be assigned to her. After posting a review that included this experience, their admin team reached out to me quickly and they allowed me to get my money back for that class. Furthermore this school does not do testing to determine whether current students are sufficiently good enough to pass into the next class, so students are held back only if they are extraordinarily, noticeably bad with the material. So if you are unlucky, in the intermediate levels you can end up in a class filled with people who should still be in A1, trying to speak English all the time. This can create an awkward class environment, and winds up breaking DA's promise of classes being completely in German. Thankfully this only happened to me once. Otherwise the classes are a good size and the teachers encourage groupwork and students getting to know each other. It is also not possible to take official tests (testDAF, etc) at this school. In conclusion: Teachers: 4/5 Office and Customer Service: 4.5/5 Classes: 4/5 Testing: N/A thus overall a minus.
